F.O.P. LODGE #91

COUNTY OF ALLEGHENY

BARGAINING REPRESENTATION

Purpose:

With the belief that police should represent police, F.O.P. Lodge #91 has evolved from just being a Fraternal Organization to one that now offers representation to their members in labor matters.  Under the leadership of President Wiehegan and through the support of the membership most police departments in Allegheny County now have the opportunity to elect Lodge #91 as their official collective bargaining representative.   This representation will be backed by the experience, history and dedication that founded the Fraternal Order of Police.  F.O.P. LODGE #91-- CHANGING FOR YOU!

Benefits:

Departments that elect Lodge #91 as their sole bargaining representative receive full representation in all Act 111 collective bargaining issues, to include but not limited to, UFLP issues and grievance issues (Pending FOP BOARD Approval) .   The Lodge will assign a skilled area representative to assist with negotiation efforts and when needed, departments will have their choice of one of three FOP attorneys for the Arbitration process.   Lodge Attorney Ronald Koerner will handle any UFLP/grievance issues and disciplinary matters following collective bargaining.

Representation:

Once elected to represent a certain department, the FOP Lodge #91 will represent all members of that department, to include both full-time and part-time members.   Members who are eligible to become active members, as per the current Lodge By-laws, will be permitted to do so.

Cost:

Each member of a department who is represented by the FOP will be assessed two (2) times their standard hourly rate per month.   Officers who are current Lodge members and who are also a member of a department being represented by the Lodge or who are members of multiple departments being represented by the FOP, will only be assessed one set of dues.  The dues assessed will be the greatest of any prospective dues.

Election Process:

Departments who are considering FOP Lodge #91 as their sole bargaining representative must petition the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board thirty (30) days prior to the six (6) months from their current collective bargaining agreement expiring in order for a formal election held.  In order for formal paperwork to be properly completed and filed with the PLRB in a timely manner Departments are encouraged to contact FOP Lodge #91 (412-824-7780) or Director Ron Dziezgowski (412-979-6264 or thediz@verizon.net ) as soon as reasonable for further details or assistance in this matter before this window of opportunity passes.
